About The Position

The Cafe/Concessions Attendant is responsible for assisting in all areas of customer service. The Cafe Attendant is involved in most aspects of day-to-day operations, such as inventory, sales, cash handling, sales reconciliation, line service, etc., while always maintaining a high level of customer service; and may be cross trained in areas related to cashier, cook, line server, and general utility.

Requirements

  • Partial High School education: High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
  • Work is assigned orally and in written form; individuals must be able to interpret menus and be able to follow directions.
  • Good visual and communication skills
  • Ability to record information on any forms necessary to perform job.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Willing to be cross trained in other areas of the workplace
  • Strong customer services abilities, actively looking for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to recognize problems or issues and communicate with supervisor/manager.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.
  • Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for the entire workday.
  • Ability to climb steps regularly.
  • Withstanding temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and cooking areas.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
  • As the seasonal business is dependent on weather conditions and customer volume, scheduled work hours may fluctuate, therefore, the seasonal attendant must be available to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Receive assignment from Supervisor at the beginning of each shift.
  • Take orders from customers and serve food and drinks according to customer requirements.
  • May perform simple food and drink preparation tasks as well as brewing coffee or tea.
  • May be assigned responsibilities as food runner both indoors and outdoors.
  • Responsible for setting up, restocking, and breaking down of the front of house work areas, counters and tables both indoors and outdoors.
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory of station and restocking front of house supplies and rotating food based on expiration date/time.
  • Operate cash/pos register to accept payments and issue receipts, refunds, credit, or change due to customers accurately.
  • May process end of day bank deposits.
  • Maintain clean and orderly cash station area; stock and maintain cash station area with various supplies and products.
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly, courteous manner, answering customer questions and providing information on company policies.
  • May be assigned to other duties as required by the Shift Supervisor or Manager(s).
