About The Position
We are hiring a reliable and safety-focused CDL Bus Driver to support our summer camp transportation program. This seasonal position is ideal for drivers who enjoy working with children, want consistent daytime hours, and value being part of a community-centered organization. As a Summer Camp Driver, you'll provide safe, timely transportation for youth participants while helping create a positive and welcoming experience each day.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Passenger endorsement (required)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and applicable screenings
- Strong attention to safety and reliability
Nice To Haves
- School bus driving, childcare transportation, or shuttle driving
- Experience working with children or in youth programs
- Knowledge of local roads and routes
Responsibilities
- Operate a bus safely while transporting children to and from camp locations/YMCA pick-up and drop-off sites
- Follow all DOT regulations, state laws, and organizational safety procedures
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bus environment
- Track routes, mileage, and complete required documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and supervisors
- Ensure campers follow safety guidelines while riding
- Respond appropriately to unexpected situations or route changes
