Trout Unlimited (TU) is a national organization dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's cold-water fisheries and their watersheds. The Wenatchee-Entiat Beaver Project, established in 2018, focuses on resolving human-beaver conflicts through coexistence and relocation in Washington's Chelan and Douglas counties. The project partners with beavers by relocating them to enhance aquatic zones and floodplains, creating habitat for various species, including salmonids. The project also employs low-tech process-based restoration techniques, such as installing beaver dam analogs and post-assisted log structures, to promote natural stream healing. The Seasonal Beaver Restoration Technician will support this mission by implementing restoration efforts, installing coexistence devices, and relocating beavers to restore Central Washington's landscapes. This role also involves public outreach to share the project's mission. The technician will work collaboratively with project managers, reporting to the Restoration Program Director, and will be based at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery.
