About The Position

The Seasonal Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting in salesfloor operations to ensure a positive shopping experience and drive customer loyalty. This role involves a variety of duties throughout the year, adapting to seasonal needs. Specifically, Associates will handle Garden Centre operations from March to July, Toys during the Christmas season, and Bikes in the Summer. Garden Centre tasks include zoning, watering, and culling plants. The position may also require limited cash handling and physical activity, including carrying items, with medium to heavy lifting and team lifts for the Outdoor Soil Compound.

Responsibilities

Greets all customers in a polite and friendly manner.
Assists customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions.
Resolves customer issues and refers concerns to management where appropriate.
Maintains salesfloor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, setting up and maintaining product displays, signing and pricing merchandise.
Ensures proper handling of claims and returns, secures merchandise, identifies high shrink items and maintains a safe work environment as per Company policies and procedures.
Receives and stocks merchandise, utilizes equipment appropriately, administers required paperwork, logs and other documentation.
Refers appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager as required.
Handles Garden Centre operations in the March-July time frame, including zoning, watering and culling plants.
Handles Toys at Christmas.
Handles Bikes in Summer.
Performs limited cash handling.
Performs limited amounts of carry-in and out.
Performs medium to heavy lifting and team lifts for the Outdoor Soil Compound.
