About The Position

Under direction of the 'Senior Coordinator, DEI and Social Impact', the ‘2026-27 Seasonal Assistant, Social Impact’ will play an integral role in all aspects of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and social impact as tied to events, programs, and initiatives throughout the 2026-2027 Cleveland Cavaliers Regular Season, with potential of extending into NBA Playoffs as needed. The ideal candidate must be eager to learn, a team player, and have a passion for serving the community in just, equitable, meaningful and impactful ways. Our Seasonal Program offers individuals a “hands-on” experience in several different business areas. This is a temporary position from September 2026 - June 2027, that will work onsite at Rocket Arena approx. 40 hours per week. Local candidates strongly preferred. There is not relocation assistance or temporary housing provided for non-local candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University (or currently pursuing a BS Degree).
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, holidays and events as assigned.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized, highly motivated, and team oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs.
  • Must have reliable transportation (such as an automobile) as needed to carry out a given task.

Responsibilities

  • Manages communication for all Social Impact mail, phone, and email inquiries.
  • Assists in the execution and logistics of Team Member Resource Group (TMRG) programming, including internal engagement events and cross-functional collaboration opportunities.
  • Coordinates with the Procurement team to order, track, and manage Social Impact promotional items and supplies, ensuring timely fulfillment and accurate inventory for programs and events.
  • Participates in the implementation of Social Impact events as well as any Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion activations, and supporting the Community Impact area of the work.
  • Tracks and compiles program data, outcomes, and engagement metrics to support reporting, storytelling, and continuous improvement of Social Impact initiatives.
  • Assists with the execution of the team’s community programs, initiatives, events, theme nights and Foundation fundraising efforts, including the Wine & Gold Gala.
  • With guidance from the Senior Manager Foundation Development & Operations, will facilitate the 50/50 Raffle program for home games during Regular Season and into the post-season as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
