About The Position

An IT-oriented office that supports analysts through the provision of large datasets, methodologies, and data visualizations to help address pressing intelligence questions. Seeks to ingest, clean, store, and analyze relevant data while improving and expanding its data infrastructure. Join a mixed-skills team providing project management, data science, User Interface (UI) design, User Experience (UX) research, and Software Engineering support to develop capabilities using Python scripts and packages, web-based applications, and automated workflows on a cloud environment to enable analysts to analyze and extract insights from massive data stores. The right candidate combines thoughtful interface design with the technical depth to help shape scalable retrieval and LLM-integrated solutions.

Requirements

• Has designed and implemented production-grade RAG systems—not just prototypes or demos.
• Deep hands-on Elasticsearch experience, including relevance tuning, schema design, and scaling strategies.
• Strong understanding of hybrid search (BM25 + vector search) and when to use each.
• Experience building end-to-end pipelines: data ingestion → chunking → embeddings → retrieval → LLM integration.
• Comfortable making architectural decisions and leading technical direction for search + AI systems.
• Experience mentoring or upskilling engineers in search or LLM technologies.
• Has partial or adjacent experience with RAG, LLM integrations, or semantic search.
• Solid experience with Elasticsearch or similar search platforms, but may lack deep optimization experience.
• Strong React + Node/Express background with the ability to quickly ramp into the search/AI domain.
• Has worked on APIs or systems that integrate external AI/ML services.
• Demonstrates strong learning ability and can become a team multiplier with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative user-interface designs in response to marketing requirements, user analyses, product innovation, technology, and business needs.
• Develop conceptual models, workflows, design prototypes, and user-interface specifications.
• Ensure user-interface guidelines and standards are followed during product development and maintenance.
• Conduct or participate in product usability tests.
• Communicate and work effectively with cross-functional team members.
