About The Position

This position is responsible for safely positioning, aligning and seam welding steel components and parts to form booms for Serco loaders, along with setting up and safely operating the tack table to form together steel components.

Requirements

Positive, team-oriented attitude.
Blueprint reading skills and ability to read a tape measure.
Proficient in shop mathematics and layout techniques.
Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of hand tools such as sanders.
Attention to detail.
Works well with others.
High School Diploma or GED.
One (1) year of welding technology training or previous work experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Interprets blueprints or drawings to plan layout and procedures.
Sets up components for welding according to specifications.
Safety welds metal parts together through the application of appropriate welding techniques, such as sub arc.
Checks dimensions using measuring devices to ensure the product meets specifications.
Operates a forklift to transport parts and components to various work areas.
Operates a crane or jib hoist to move and position metal components and parts.
Loads tack table with work pieces.
Sets up and operates tack table according to company standards.
Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions and adjusts the machine as necessary.
Maintains specifications by observing operations and taking measurements.
Uses hand tools such as sanders to smooth off rough edges.
Keeps work area safe, clean and organized.
Ensure proper placement of tools and other equipment at the end of shift.
