Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in grocery, retail, food service, or seafood departments
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Knife handling and seafood preparation experience
  • Ability to provide recommendations on seafood selection, preparation, and cooking methods

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, helpful, and respectful guest service at all times to ensure a positive shopping experience and encourage repeat visits
  • Package and label seafood products accurately in compliance with weight, pricing, and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist guests with seafood selection, preparation questions, and cooking recommendations
  • Stock, rotate, and face products using FIFO methods to maintain freshness, minimize waste, and ensure an appealing presentation
  • Monitor product dates, storage conditions, and temperature logs to maintain quality and reduce shrink
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked seafood cases and displays
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and temperature control of all seafood products
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards
  • Operate equipment such as scales, wrappers, scanners, and seafood department tools safely and accurately
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of seafood products, pricing, promotions, and preparation methods to better assist guests and drive sales
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate low, excess, or damaged items to department leadership to support product availability
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in both sales floor and backroom areas
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates, leadership, and vendors to support efficient operations
  • Collaborate across departments to support overall store performance and guest satisfaction
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including attendance, conduct, and dress code standards
  • Remain productive during slower periods by cleaning, organizing, restocking, or supporting other departments
  • Other job duties as assigned
