About The Position

This position is responsible for keeping the seafood area well stocked and appealing to meet customer requirements, greeting customers, making suggestions, providing information on seafood preparation, taking orders for future delivery, and helping to fill special requests. The associate will also help resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner, set up displays, rotate product, and ensure seafood is fresh and in saleable condition with proper prices and signage. They will handle product that is spoiled, damaged, or close to expiration according to company procedures, and remove product that is not saleable to ensure quality. The role involves weighing and wrapping merchandise, applying stickers showing price and weight, and maintaining necessary logs to track freshness and quality. Adherence to all food and personal safety codes, and general sanitation of the department are crucial. This includes following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are well-maintained, clean, and meet all health and OSHA requirements. The associate will also dispose of trash properly, help the manager control inventory through proper ordering, minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration, and report shortages or overages to the manager. Depending on training, the associate may assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, as well as baling cardboard. The role requires cooperation with co-workers and superiors for the smooth function of the department and store, and a commitment to continuously improve job performance. Utilization of all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • No prior experience required.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation.
  • Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Training provided for power jack or hand jack operation.
  • Training provided for baling cardboard or other related duties.

Responsibilities
