About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Seafood Porter to join our team, working in the seafood department during the overnight shift. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency of our seafood production area. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in cold, wet environments and be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods. While prior warehouse or sanitation experience is preferred, it is not required, as we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Ability to work in cold, wet environments for extended periods.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and lifting for long periods (up to 50 lbs regularly).
- Basic English reading, writing, and math skills.
- Team player with the ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Prior warehouse or sanitation experience preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the seafood production area and equipment.
- Perform deep cleaning of floors, drains, tools, bins, and seafood processing stations.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and notify management of maintenance issues.
- Assist with general seafood production and packing duties during peak times.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and safety standards.
