The Seafood Assistant Manager is first and foremost responsible for guest relations and satisfaction by building a reputation for Ultimate Service. He/She is responsible for assisting in the efficient, effective, safe, legal and profitable operations of the Seafood Department. He/She helps to coordinate human relations for the Seafood Department and ensures execution of all company and department policies and procedures on a timely basis.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner.
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work within a freezer for up to 15 minutes.
  • Ability to work for periods of up to 8-10 hours in 50 degree temperatures.
  • Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, Email).
  • Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Must be able to transfer to another store within the area.
  • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.

  • Must be flexible to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area or department.
  • Assist in preparing work schedules and assign individuals based on routine as well as special needs to maintain appropriate labor levels.
  • Assist in the interviewing, training, scheduling, performance, and productivity of all seafood department team members.
  • Supervise the work of all department team members, assign tasks, monitor production flow, and status of assigned tasks.
  • Discipline team members as necessary in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of personnel performance and seafood sales and expenses.
  • Assist in all departmental operations, handle all problems encountered, and direct corrective actions.
  • Conduct team member meetings to ensure correct execution of seafood policies.
  • Teach safety procedures to supervisory and lead personnel in maintaining adequate coverage of emergencies.
  • Assist in inventory process and reporting.
  • Ensure that Food Safety Procedures are adhered to.
  • Verify compliance with all company rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties assigned by upper management.
