About The Position

We are currently looking for Seafood Clerks to join our team at our cafe in the city of Santa Monica, working behind our seafood counter. We are looking for highly energetic, motivated individuals that will provide efficient and courteous service. Our Seafood Clerks should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills since working the customer counter is a primary responsibility! Our customers come back to us time and again not only to get the freshest and highest quality seafood but for the experience. If you feel you can help our customers have a positive and wonderful experience every time they step into our stores then we encourage you to apply.

Requirements

Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers
Willingness to work as part of a team
Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays.)

Nice To Haves

Previous customer service experience in a grocery/retail environment a plus
General seafood knowledge is preferred but we are always willing to train the right candidate
Serve Safe Certified (preferred but may be obtained after employment)

Responsibilities

Helping our customers in selecting the best seafood products
Help maintain an attractive seafood display case
Select, wrap, weigh, and price items
Encourage customers to sample our products
Discuss our other line of products (sauces, marinades, etc.) in an effort to upsell
Advise customers on seafood safety handling
Follow all department procedures
