About The Position

This position is responsible for providing friendly and courteous service to customers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the seafood department, preparing products for display and sale, and handling various seafood items. The role involves suggestive selling, cooking and steaming products for customers, and adhering to company safety and sanitation procedures. Training will be provided at the store level.

Requirements

• Candidates MUST be available till 9pm and weekends to be considered.
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
• Internal Candidates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, seafood cases, and backroom
• Prepare product for cases
• At closing, pull product from cases for proper storage
• Handle live seafood
• Prepare party trays and selected seafood
• Suggestive selling and sampling products for customers
• Cook-fry and steam product for customers
• Follow company safety and sanitation procedures
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management
