About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Assists Head Music Director with duties as assigned. Note to Applicant: This position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance. Requirements

  • Must have prior experience of 1-semester minimum as part of the WDCE organization
  • Must possess problem solving and growth mindset with a positive attitude and an initiative to resolve questions or concerns
  • Must work a minimum of 2 office hours per week
  • Must attend all weekly Executive Board meetings and General Staff Meetings (unless previously-approved absence)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Forms and social media platforms
  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Approx. 10-15 hours/week

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred qualification of a 1-hour (minimum) on-air show

Responsibilities

  • Listen to local and national music submissions (possibly of assigned genre) and give recommendations to Head Music Director to decide what to add to the station’s automation system and/or the CD/Vinyl library
  • Monitor the music database to help keep it current and curated
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the physical media library
  • Review new music, including writing Music Monday and website blogs as assigned
  • Assist in monitoring, maintaining, and responding to the Music Director Gmail account
  • Communicate with Record Labels and Promotional Companies about new music and concerts under Head Music Director’s advisement
  • Assist in maintaining Music Scheduling software and database
  • Assist in auditing DJ shows on-air and in Spinitron to ensure proper logging of songs
  • Assist in gathering information and organize a report for most-played new songs on the station
  • Assist in reporting most-played new songs and new adds to NACC weekly before the deadline
  • Communicate with all DJs about University and FCC rules and regulations
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned by the professional staff
