This is a full-time union position scheduled to work 35 hours per week. The role involves developing, planning, and delivering culturally safe and linguistically competent activities for elderly persons living with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia. The position requires building and maintaining constructive relationships with clients and their families to ensure holistic care support. The Recreation Aid will lead and assist in the implementation of recreational activities, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere while ensuring clients' dignity, privacy, and rights are respected. Health and safety regulations must be followed, and the well-being of seniors during activities is paramount. Confidentiality of client information is essential. Collaboration with team members, students, volunteers, and families is expected to meet participants' holistic needs. Organizing and maintaining activity supplies and equipment is also a responsibility. The role includes participating in team and case management meetings, and providing support to caregivers through education and support groups.
