About The Position

Kobie is seeking an SDET to join their software development team. This role is responsible for building the next-generation customer loyalty platform, which delivers surprise and delight to millions of customers for well-known brands. The SDET will focus on improving software predictability, reliability, and quality. This is an enablement and execution role where the individual will provide teams with the environment and knowledge to run a robust quality program and perform tests as needed. The goal is to "shift left" on quality, automate tests, and improve key quality metrics, guiding the software engineering team on their continuous improvement journey. The SDET will enable engineering teams to test their own code through tooling, piloting, advocacy, and education, leading to demonstrable software quality progress and high confidence among stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years experience as a software developer, Software Developer in Test, or a similar role.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent, or analogous work experience.
  • Fluency in software testing methodologies: white box, black box, unit, integration, functional, performance, etc.
  • Bias toward automation over manual testing.
  • Proven track record automating complex software testing in real-world enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in proven testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and curiosity to explore state of the art.
  • Production software coding experience is a must.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Karate).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner), a plus.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OCI), a plus.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, a plus.
  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications, a plus.
  • Experience with compliance (SOC, HITRUST, etc.) a plus.
