This position is for participants currently enrolled in the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) with Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region. SCSEP is a program designed to help low-income, unemployed individuals aged 55 and older find work. The program matches eligible older adults with part-time training assignments at non-profit or government agencies. Participants gain skills and confidence while earning a modest income, with the ultimate goal of transitioning into non-subsidized employment. Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region is a proud participant in this national employment and training program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. The program, administered by the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, is the nation’s oldest employment program for seniors. Participants are assigned job training placements at Host Agencies, typically community-based non-profit service organizations, based on their preferences and employment goals outlined in their Individual Employment Plan (IEP). Participants may also be eligible to enroll in the Career Readiness Education and Development (CRED) program and other Goodwill or partner programs through the local Work-Force Development Council(s).
