About The Position

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a dynamic Scrum Master to join their Minotaur software development team. This role focuses on driving innovation and efficiency in projects within a hybrid environment in Columbia, MD. The Scrum Master will guide software development teams through the Scrum framework, ensuring effective collaboration among team members. Key responsibilities include facilitating daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives, while working closely with product owners to meet project goals on time and within budget. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of agile principles and methodologies, experience in a fast-paced, collaborative setting, and the ability to champion Scrum execution. They should be a natural leader capable of motivating and inspiring team members, comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all organizational levels, and committed to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
  • Scrum Alliance Certification (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master Certification (SSM), & Scrum Professional Certification (CSP)
  • Applicable knowledge of Jira
  • Strong skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a US level secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of numerous documented patterns and techniques for filling the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (i.e. Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
  • An active US level secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices
  • Facilitate the Scrum process, including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Continuously seek to improve team processes and workflows
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives
  • Provide guidance and support team members as needed
  • Promote transparency and openness in all team interactions
  • Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices
  • Help the team identify and address obstacles that may impede progress or success
  • Monitor and report on team performance and progress
