About The Position

The Scrub Technician is responsible for communicating effectively with patients, visitors, and other healthcare providers. This role ensures the availability of supplies and equipment, processes sterile instrumentation and equipment, and performs housekeeping duties as necessary. The technician will utilize sterile technique while setting up and assisting the physician, assist in direct patient care when necessary, and participate in the call schedule. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• 12-month certificate program or two-year associate degree in surgical technology.
• One-year minimum working in an OR as a surgical technician or a new graduate from a scrub tech school or program.
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technician/Technologist program.
• BLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge and competency in OR technology and central service.
• Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
• Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
• Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
• Frequent standing, walking, and interaction with patients and staff.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds as part of routine duties.
