About The Position

The Scrub Technician is a member of the surgical team performing scrub duties throughout the surgical procedure. The scrub tech works under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The scrub tech assists the RN in maintaining the surgeon's preferences for listed surgical procedures of the specialty assigned. Remain current with all the new procedures and assist other team members with instrumentation and equipment associated specifically with the specialty. The collaborative efforts of both the RN and Scrub tech are the key to patient care excellence and physician satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Successful completion of surgical technician training courses in an academic or military setting.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
One year of experience as a Surgical Technician.
Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.
Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
TB/PPD Surveillance Program.
Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
