About The Position

TheSoul Group is seeking a creative and highly adaptable Scriptwriter to develop engaging, character-driven comedy content for a 14+ family-friendly sitcom-style format. The role involves working within an established story world (lore) and collaborating closely with the creative team to deliver original, high-performing scripts for digital audiences. This is a flexible role with workload varying depending on production cycles, potentially increasing during script development and revision phases. All deliverables and timelines will be agreed upon in advance per project.

Requirements

• Experience writing for 14+ or family-friendly comedy formats.
• Background in viral or high-volume digital content production.
• Experience working in writers’ rooms or collaborative creative teams.
• Proven experience in scriptwriting (comedy, sitcom, sketch, or digital series).
• Strong understanding of storytelling structure and comedic timing.
• Ability to write for character-driven narratives with clear arcs.
• Familiarity with digital-first content (YouTube, TikTok, short-form series).
• Good knowledge of internet culture, memes, and current trends.
• Ability to work within creative guidelines and established lore.
• Strong communication and ability to iterate based on feedback.
• Comfortable with flexible, project-based workloads.

Responsibilities

• Write scripts within a defined format and established story world (lore).
• Develop original, character-driven sitcom-style stories.
• Create strong visual and situational comedy with clear comedic timing.
• Ensure structured storytelling with strong pacing, escalation, and resolution.
• Integrate modern memes, internet trends, and pop culture references for an English-speaking audience.
• Maintain originality and avoid repetitive story structures.
• Collaborate with producers and creative leads, incorporating feedback and revisions.
