About The Position
As part of Vituity's Medical Scribe program, this role offers a vital opportunity to support physicians and health care providers while gaining first-hand knowledge and practical experience in a clinical setting. Vituity fosters a "culture of brilliance" where team accomplishments are valued, and colleagues are supported. The program provides exposure in units such as the Emergency Department, Intensivist Care, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical. It's an ideal opportunity for undergraduates or post-baccalaureate students pursuing healthcare careers, including those taking time off before Medical, PA, or NP school, as scribe hours count towards clinical training. Scribes work one-on-one with healthcare providers, becoming proficient in medical terminology, and gaining valuable networking and resume-building opportunities, with mentorship available from scribe alumni.
Requirements
- Responsible and mature demeanor with a passion for medicine.
- Strong writing skills.
- Quick and accurate typing speed.
- Ability to stand, walk and follow a physician for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment.
- 1 year commitment at this site, continuous one year, not a summer position.
- Excellent follow through.
- Self-motivated.
- Completion of scribe application test is required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with medical terminology, human anatomy and human physiology is preferred.
