Summary As a medical scribe, the individual are responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED to include heath sciences classes (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, etc.)
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • CMSS - Certified Medical Scribe Specialist - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School Diploma
  • Medical Assistant or EMT

Responsibilities

  • Document patient medical history and physical exam.
  • Document procedures and treatments performed by providers.
  • Prepare office notes/template for upcoming appointments.
  • Submits electronic prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by providers.
  • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory test, radiology test, medications, etc.
  • Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician.
  • Performs clerical duties and tasks as assigned.
