The UF Health Cancer Institute is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span all of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure. As a Screening & Care Navigator at the UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI), you will be responsible for: Providing operational, administrative, and patient-access support for the UF Health Mobile Cancer Screening Unit. Developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, health departments, and providers to strengthen outreach and screening efforts across UFHCI’s 26-county catchment area. Assessing patient needs and providing appropriate navigation and education for mobile unit visits, including intake, eligibility screening, linkage to care, and addressing Social Determinates of Health barriers. Participating in and coordinating community health events and mobile outreach activities to promote cancer prevention and early detection, including some required evening and weekend events. Serving as a UFHCI representative in the community, building trust and awareness to advance equitable access to cancer screening and care. Working closely with our transportation captain to track inspections, maintenance, and other upkeep duties. This is an early-career, professional position ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare and/or community health support who are eager to grow their career in community outreach and engagement.
