Screen Print Worker (Union)

Fanatics CommerceEaston, PA

About The Position

The Screen Print Inspector is responsible for reading screen print tickets, executing quality checks throughout the production run, and ensuring every garment meets Fanatics Commerce's standards before goods are released to shipping. This role oversees inspection at every stage of the print process — from test print approval through final fold, pack, and documentation — catching defects early and holding the line on quality. The Screen Print Inspector delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

  • Strong math skills with the ability to accurately count, verify, and reconcile quantities by size and color against production tickets.
  • Legible handwriting for completing inspector production sheets and other required documentation.
  • Ability to distinguish colors accurately to identify print defects and verify color correctness against order specifications.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout a full production shift in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, including unloading garments from conveyors and presses and moving buggies, boxes, or crates.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, misprints, and cure issues and take appropriate corrective action without prompting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with press operators and team members, communicating clearly and professionally in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with press operators and team members during setup, production runs, and tear-down, communicating clearly when quality issues arise and when it is safe to resume or conclude production.
  • Assist teammates throughout the screen take-down and press setup process, contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient work area that supports the broader production team.
  • Escalate discrepancies in quantities or quality to supervisors promptly and accurately, ensuring the team can respond quickly and avoid downstream errors.
  • Uphold the quality of every licensed garment by inspecting for print defects and cure issues, protecting the fan experience by ensuring only correctly printed merchandise reaches shipping.
  • Verify accuracy of quantity by size and color against the screen print ticket, ensuring fans receive exactly the product that was ordered.
  • Ensure all misprints and defective garments are replaced before screens are taken down, preventing flawed product from advancing in the fulfillment process.
  • Apply heat seal labels as required and perform garment touch-ups and clean-ups, maintaining the presentation standards fans expect from officially licensed merchandise.
  • Conduct a cure check on every twelfth shirt during production runs, using a systematic sampling approach to detect quality issues before they compound across an order.
  • Stop production when quality problems are identified and authorize the operator to resume only after satisfactory corrections have been confirmed, applying sound judgment to protect output quality.
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies between ticket specifications and actual quantities, contributing to process accuracy and continuous improvement on the production floor.
  • Support ongoing improvements in folding, packing, and inspection workflows by consistently following defined steps — folding in sixes or twelves, stacking for secondary printing, or placing bundles into buggies, boxes, or crates — without combining steps.
  • Complete all required information on the inspector production sheet accurately and obtain supervisor signatures for downtime and allowances, maintaining accountability and production records.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of each production order from test print through final verification, confirming quantity, print quality, and cure before communicating order completion to the operator.
  • Unload garments from the conveyor and press as needed, performing each step with care and attention to garment quality and condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift, supporting a safe and efficient production environment for the entire team.
  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
