About The Position

Responsible for the set up and operation of various sheet metal machines such as shears, saws, drills, press brakes, punch presses, water jets, plasma tables, and other hand tools to cut, bend, ream, punch and drill, or otherwise shape and form metal stock into components meeting specifications for production.

Requirements

High School degree or equivalent.
Good communication skills
Submit to Drug Screen and Background Search
Two years’ experience equipment operations.
Basic knowledge and understanding of machine operations, practices and processes.
Must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination to make precise bends and cuts.
Ability to follow directions both written and verbal.
Must be able to work to a blueprint and hold close dimensions on finished parts.
Good oral and written and communication skills.
Requires precise calculations and accurate blueprint understanding to perform proper sequencing.
Must have the ability to stand at a machine for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Involves driving a forklift, operating a crane, working around equipment and machinery, requires the utilization of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment per established procedures.
Load and unload parts using a crane.
Perform necessary tool changes per established procedures.
Follows blueprints and job orders.
Set up machines to process parts.
Shape production pieces to specific configurations.
Use gages and measuring equipment to meet tolerance.
Remove part from machine and inspect.
Performs tasks according to established procedures following blueprints and job orders.
Applies safety standards, keeps track of safety issues and notifies appropriate individual.
