Openings on both 1st shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM) and 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) at Gibson USA. Job Summary The purpose of a Scraper is to remove all fill and color from the binding, and peghead inlays. This job is accomplished through the meticulous use of spring steel blades. Scrape enables the beauty of each guitar’s non-wooden accents to shine through helping create the signature aesthetic of a Gibson Guitar.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and execute standard operating procedures.
  • Remove fill and color from binding and accents.
  • Able to use a razor blade safely and effectively.
  • Correcting any minor defects such as scratches and dings with 320 grit sandpaper.
  • 95% pass rate based on production requirements.
  • Understands and meets quality standards (Specs.)
  • Maintains product flow at appropriate rate.
  • Adheres to department protocols (5S and Safety)
  • Adherence to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules.
  • Obligation to submit safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code.
  • Support the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
