About The Position

The Scrap Scale Associate inspects, grades, and purchases non-ferrous materials while providing a positive, customer-focused experience for customers delivering materials. The role records purchase transactions, maintains inventory records, and supports the team by packaging and shipping materials to fulfill sales orders. The schedule is Monday through Saturday on a rotating five-day schedule, working first shift.

Requirements

• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Accuracy in operation and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of inventory control.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience operating small equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers regarding the purchase of their materials.
• Weigh and inspect incoming non-ferrous customer scrap.
• Identify and sort materials, removing or upgrading materials when possible.
• Enter and record transaction data in the computer system.
• Operate hi-lo, loader, and/or manual processing equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Inventory and ship material as needed.
