About The Position

The Scooter Counselor at Woodward Tahoe is responsible for creating a positive and nurturing environment for campers aged 5-17, teaching scooter skills based on individual abilities. Counselors must have strong Scooter skills and excellent communication abilities. They manage up to 10 campers, ensuring their needs are met outside instructional time, such as meals, activities, and calls home. Counselors also assist with camp check-ins, enforce rules, and maintain a neat appearance as role models. Duties include providing high-quality instruction, ensuring safety, addressing homesickness, coordinating with medical staff, and managing special needs or allergies. They actively participate in recreation, assist with facility maintenance, and contribute to overall camp operations. Counselors must be adaptable, punctual, and uphold professionalism in both behavior and appearance at all times. All camp employees are role models to our campers and should be prepared to represent the Woodward brand to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Develop caring relationships with campers and help provide the best camp experience
  • Make sure the basic needs of your campers are met
  • Provide high quality instruction for safe skill progression and a fun learning environment
  • Care for homesick campers and inform appropriate staff
  • Communicate with medical staff regarding injuries and special needs
  • Facilitate disbursement of medication through the Camp Nurse
  • Understand and be aware of allergies and other special needs of your campers
  • Participate in recreation activities with enthusiasm and encourage campers to do the same
  • Maintain a positive attitude and arrive to shifts on time
  • Uphold highest standard of professionalism in appearance and behavior at all times
  • Assist with camp check-ins
  • Enforce rules

  • Contribute to overall camp operations
