About The Position

The Scientist executes, develops, and validates standard methods for analyzing materials, filtration media, and integrated filtration, purification, or separation devices and systems. The role is part of Pall Corporation’s Global R&D Organization in Port Washington, New York, and is onsite. It reports to the Sr. Manager.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science, with a focus on materials analysis or analytical chemistry.
At least 3 years of experience in a professional laboratory environment.
Hands-on experience developing methods for and using analytical or characterization tools, such as SEM, FTIR, ICP-MS, GC-MS, HPLC, TOC, and IC.
Industry experience in the microelectronics/semiconductor or energy sectors.

Responsibilities

Develop, validate, document, and execute new or modified standard operating procedures for analyzing materials, components, or products used in integrated filtration, purification, and separation devices.
Document experiments, results, and findings in laboratory notebooks and technical reports, and identify opportunities to improve analysis and characterization methods.
Serve as a subject matter expert and provide analytical expertise to cross-functional teams.
Work with the lab manager and project requestors to review timelines, discuss schedule conflicts, and verify test parameter modifications.
Oversee preventive maintenance of analytical equipment by working with tool vendors.
