About The Position

Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is seeking a Scientist I/II in Pleasanton, California, on a long-term contract with the possibility of extension. This hands-on role supports the development and optimization of advanced sequencing assays and involves molecular biology, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and molecular diagnostics.

Requirements

• Background in molecular biology, genomics, or a related life science field.
• Good understanding of NGS library preparation, targeted enrichment, and sequencing.
• Hands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction and clinical specimens.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with methylation sequencing or assay optimization is highly desirable.
• Experience with cfDNA, FFPE samples, and high-throughput sequencing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Extract cell-free nucleic acids from clinical plasma, whole blood, and FFPE tissue samples.
• Perform and optimize NGS library preparation, targeted enrichment, and methylation sequencing workflows.
• Execute high-throughput sequencing operations using the AXELIOS 1 sequencer.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze results, troubleshoot workflows, and recommend follow-up experiments.
• Collaborate with molecular biology and bioinformatics teams to improve sequencing performance.
