The ideal candidate is an early-career structural biologist with strong, hands-on cryo-EM data-processing experience and enough scientific computing/programming proficiency to develop practical tools that improve and automate scientific data workflows. The manager is prioritizing scientific and structural-biology depth over traditional software-development expertise; candidates should understand cryo-EM data and be comfortable working beyond basic GUI/tutorial-driven workflows, including command-line environments and high-performance computing (HPC). Python is preferred, but other programming languages are acceptable. A recent PhD is ideal, although candidates with a master’s degree plus relevant experience will also be considered. We are seeking a Scientist to develop robust, user-centered automation workflows for cryogenic electron microscopy (cryoEM) data processing, reporting, and scientific decision support. This scientist will combine practical understanding of structural biology and cryoEM workflows with strong computational skills to leverage AI to reduce manual documentation, improve data traceability, and create standardized, reusable analysis tools.
