We are currently searching for Scientist to provide independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD Design and conduct experiments and studies that require the application of a broad professional knowledge of scientific theories and principles. Design and conduct independent experiments to complete separate previously initiated study using multi-electrode recording. Perform electrophysiological recordings in association with ongoing studies to understand sensory coding and neural plasticity in the mammalian olfactory bulb. Perform both slice recordings and in vivo whole animal recordings. Perform electrical recordings in response to optogenetic induced light simulation. Maintain and update laboratory notebooks and databases Complete the data analysis associated with multi-electrode project Organize data from study and assemble them in figure format appropriate for publication. Prepare summaries, reports and presentations. Train and provide support to staff on multi-electrode recording methods.
