About The Position

United Therapeutics is a public benefit corporation focused on developing novel pharmaceutical therapies and technologies to expand the availability of transplantable organs. The company has developed six FDA-approved therapies and is working on creating manufactured organs to address the shortage of transplantable organs. The Scientist, Thymus-Based Therapeutics (Preclinical & Translational Research) will be instrumental in establishing a new research group and laboratory facility. This role involves performing preclinical and translational research, contributing directly to the preclinical development pipeline by advancing in vitro and in vivo immunology platforms. The position requires independent planning, execution, and analysis of experiments related to human thymus and T cell biology, including cell culture, isolation assays, and functional assays. The scientist will also perform multi-parameter flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, and contribute to the evaluation of humanized mouse models. Additionally, the role involves setting up and managing new lab spaces, coordinating with external vendors and CROs, maintaining detailed records, analyzing complex datasets, and presenting findings. The scientist will actively contribute to building a collaborative, high-performing research group within a dynamic startup culture.
