About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Scientist with drug discovery experience in diseases with an inflammatory etiology to join our growing Immunology team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunology, cellular and molecular biology and/or related scientific field and contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapies targeting inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment at the nexus of basic research and therapeutic innovation to develop transformative therapies aimed at addressing unmet medical needs for patients who need it most.

Requirements

  • PhD, MS, BS (PhD preferred) in Immunology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field with 0-2+ years of industry experience, preferably in inflammatory and autoimmune disease drug discovery (MS with 4+ years experience, BS with 6+ years experience)
  • Strong expertise in immune cell biology (innate and adaptive immunity), cell signaling, and immunological assay development
  • Hands-on experience with relevant techniques, including, biochemical and cellular assay development, tissue culture, multiparametric flow cytometry (e.g. 15+ colors), ELISA/MSD, RNA & protein analysis (e.g. RNA-seq/qPCR, Jess), CRISPR
  • Isolation and culture of primary murine and human cells or patient-derived samples
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in team settings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with disease models of inflammation and/or autoimmunity is a plus
  • Prior experience in biotech/pharma drug discovery or translational research
  • Experience working with small-molecule and biologics drug discovery
  • Experience with multiomics analyses (e.g. genomic, transcriptomic, proteomics, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to explore mechanisms underlying inflammatory and autoimmune diseases
  • Identify and validate new drug targets, biomarkers, and pathways relevant to immune-mediated disorders
  • Generate data that supports lead optimization, biomarker discovery, and translational research
  • Generate and interpret complex data sets and present findings internally and externally (e.g. meetings, conferences, publications)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, protein engineering, and computational and translational sciences to drive target identification/validation, drug discovery, and development
  • Foster a culture of scientific excellence and innovation by staying abreast of scientific advances and emerging technologies in immunology and inflammation
