About The Position

Entegris is seeking a Scientist II, Research Associate to join its Research & Development ICPS NA team at the Aurora, Illinois facility. The role provides laboratory support and assists with developing and commercializing commercially viable products for chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) applications. The position independently conducts wet-lab and lab-based polishing experiments, product reliability tests, formulation experiments, fundamental wet-chemistry or instrument studies, and data collection, summarization, and analysis. It also includes maintaining the laboratory. The successful candidate can work in a laboratory environment at least 80% of the time and execute experiments with limited to no guidance, while receiving some guidance when designing experiments. The role contributes to data quality, laboratory safety, and operational efficiency, including leading safety committee teams and performing calibration and internal preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum BA/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on wet chemistry techniques and characterization instrumentation experience in an industrial environment, such as specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or semiconductor consumables.
  • Proven track record of safe laboratory practices and methodology.
  • Ability to design and execute experiments and analyze data for trends.
  • Significant experience and skill with a broad range of particle and surface science analysis techniques, such as PSD, zeta potential, contact angle, and thin-film measurements.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed, with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
