The Scientist I will independently conduct routine protocol driven laboratory experiments and under general supervision conduct non-routine protocol driven laboratory experiments. In this role the Scientist I, will perform laboratory functions including diluting, labeling, and dispensing of biological samples, reagent solution preparation, laboratory upkeep, maintain inventory of supplies, and proper cleaning. They may also conduct administration functions including but not limited to routine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) review and revision, and basic new hire laboratory training with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in a biological or chemical science or related field with 1 or more years laboratory experience preferred, or combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and scientific software (e.g., Prism, MatLab, Flow Cytometry Analysis).
  • Experience designing, executing, and analyzing laboratory experiments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with cell culture and analytical methods (DNA/RNA/protein analysis, primary cell isolation).
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GLP, GDP, and EHS standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with analyses of sequencing or other -omics data is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Independently conducts routine laboratory procedures and under general supervision conduct non-routine laboratory procedures.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and validity of processed data and communicate errors.
  • Conduct routine laboratory functions including diluting, labeling, and dispensing of biological samples, reagent solution preparation, cell culture maintenance, laboratory upkeep, maintain inventory of supplies, and proper cleaning.
  • Follow strict adherence to all study protocols, adhering to appropriate compliance regulations and SOPs.
  • Maintain laboratories and equipment, appropriate logs, records, study notebooks and administrative records.
  • Ensure compliance with annual SOP, safety, and GLP training.
  • Become qualified on relevant SOPs as provided by trainer/supervisor.
  • Under direct supervision, serve as a writer, reviewer, or owner of SOPs.
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to study and in house quality assurance audits.
  • Under general supervision troubleshoot concerns with experiments, laboratory instruments or software and communicate to laboratory team lead, supervisor and study director.
  • Serve as laboratory trainer.
