About The Position

Join our dynamic antibody engineering team where you’ll contribute to cutting-edge antibody discovery using Specifica’s Generation 3 antibody library platform. You’ll work with a collaborative team of experts in molecular biology, NGS, AI, and bioinformatics, with an initial 3-month training period in Santa Fe, NM, before relocating to Durham, NC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Immunology, or related life science field with 3+ years of relevant experience in biotech or pharma.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and sequence analysis.
• Experience with gene and primer design.
• Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Nice To Haves

• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks and willingness to learn new systems.
• Interest or experience in flow cytometry, yeast display, or lab automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing antibody selections using phage and yeast display technologies.
• Validating antibody libraries and optimizing antibody affinity.
• Executing molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, and DNA assembly.
• Designing genes and primers; analyzing sequences for accuracy and optimization.
• Following and contributing to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records using electronic lab notebooks.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve processes.
• Adapting to fast-paced project timelines and contributing to team goals.
