About The Position

The Scientist I with hands-on experience supporting pharmaceutical formulation development through pre-formulation studies, small-scale batch manufacturing, and routine laboratory experimentation. Skilled in fundamental formulation techniques including weighing, blending, milling, tablet compression, granulation, and coating. Proficient in operating laboratory and pilot-scale equipment such as blenders, tablet presses, granulators, and coating machines. Experienced in accurately documenting experimental data, drafting protocols, batch records, lab reports, and technical summaries while adhering to SOPs, cGMP requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Pharmacy, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or other scientific discipline with 4 years of experience.
  • MS in scientific discipline with 3 years of experience
  • PharmD with 2 years of experience
  • Math skills plus basic knowledge of statistical methodology and chemistry.
  • Computer skills including Word Processing, databases and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and basic regulatory requirements.
  • Use of statistical methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on technical writing, formulation research and development as well as formulation scale-up experience is desired, knowledge of US FDA registration guidelines.
  • Good team player and self-starter, innovative and comfortable in a multi-disciplinary team under defined timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pre-formulation studies (e.g., solubility testing, compatibility studies).
  • Perform routine lab experiments to support formulation development.
  • Prepares small-scale batches.
  • Accurately record and document experimental data.
  • Writes comprehensive protocols, to batch records under supervision.
  • Adhere to SOPs, cGMPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.
  • Handles basic equipment like blenders, tablet presses, granulators, and coating machines.
  • Build foundational knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
  • Follows cGMP practices
  • Drafts lab reports and technical summaries.
  • Assists in SOP creation.
  • Basic lab techniques: weighing, blending, milling, tablet compression, coating.
  • Work closely with senior scientists to support formulation projects.
  • Participate in team discussions and brainstorming sessions.
