About The Position

The Scientist I, Analytical Development develops and optimizes analytical methods for gene therapy products, with a focus on AAV products. The role independently designs, executes, and interprets studies; performs sample testing; and supports method qualification. It also contributes to process development and development vector characterization, and works with Quality Control on analytical test method qualification and release-testing needs. The position is primarily laboratory-based and involves collaboration with other scientists and presentation of data.

Requirements

A degree in a relevant discipline and work experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO laboratory setting.
Bachelor’s degree with 6 or more years of work experience, master’s degree with 2 or more years of work experience, or PhD degree or equivalent with 0 or more years of work experience.
State-of-the-industry analytical knowledge.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Flexible work hours and willingness to work outside normal scheduled hours as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience developing and executing molecular assays, such as ddPCR or NGS, for AAV gene therapies and/or protein therapeutics.

Responsibilities

Independently design, execute, and interpret studies to develop and optimize analytical methods for AAV products.
Seek out and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decision-making.
Author and review ELN entries and documents supporting analytical development activities, as needed.
Routinely execute test methods in support of process development and development vector characterization.
Support Quality Control with qualification of analytical test methods and identify needs for release testing.
Collaborate with other scientists and routinely present data.
Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
