About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scientist 3 to join our Formulation team. In this hands-on laboratory role, you will independently execute and optimize the synthesis of targeted and non-targeted lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for nucleic acid delivery. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong technical and data analysis skills who is ready to contribute to our non-viral delivery platform.

Requirements

A PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant academic and/or biopharma industry experience; OR a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 3+ years of industry experience.
2 or more years of hands-on laboratory experience specializing in LNP formulation and encapsulation of nucleic acids (mRNA, siRNA, or DNA) for in vitro and in vivo studies.
Highly proficient with standard LNP characterization methods, including Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Zeta potential, and Ribogreen assays.
Demonstrated level of expertise in MS Excel; hands-on experience with statistical and data analysis software (e.g., JMP, Prism).
Demonstrated level experience in the LNP field in the form of publications and/or patent filings.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) and bioconjugation chemistry is highly desirable.
Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment

Responsibilities

Independently execute and optimize the synthesis of targeted and non-targeted lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids for in vitro and in vivo studies.
Lead DoE-based screening campaigns directed toward discovering LNPs, setting LNP composition specifications, and optimizing LNP formulations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (biology, analytics, chemistry, and project management) to advance programs.
Support early-stage formulation development and downstream processing activities, including cryoprotection, scale-up, and stability studies as needed.
Maintain detailed records documenting formulation activities and results.
Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data in group meetings.
Troubleshoot formulation challenges and continuously improve workflows.
