About The Position

This is a full-time, onsite, Scientist 1 position located in Pennsauken, NJ, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pace® is committed to making the world a safer, healthier place and has been developing innovative practices since 1978. As a Scientist, you will conduct hands-on analysis in an environmental testing laboratory, ensuring the integrity and quality of environmental data.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or other science related degrees — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, working around strong odors, and wearing required PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves—all provided by Pace®)
Mobility to work in a lab and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment
Stamina to sit for extended periods of time
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
Vision to read printed materials and computer screens
Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone

Responsibilities

Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP, and more
Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants
Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records
Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
