About The Position

The Analytical Intern will support a dynamic and diverse research pipeline by performing routine analytical testing of RNA-based drug substances, intermediates, and formulated drug products. This part-time role is designed for students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline.

Requirements

  • Student currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with wet bench laboratory techniques.
  • Strong motivation to learn and grow within a scientific environment.
  • Proficiency in operating standard laboratory instruments as well as computer hardware and software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with analytical characterization of nucleic acid-based therapeutics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of biochemistry techniques
  • Pipetting skills
  • Expertise in multiple analytical techniques such as UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, fluorescent plate readers, osmometers, viscometers etc. is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis of molecular biology and biochemistry data.
  • Ability to apply existing knowledge and experience to solve standard analytical problems without instruction and receive guidance on new assignments or more complex problems from a senior team member.
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data without compromising quality of the results
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have great attention to details.
  • Have strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Skilled in balancing independent work with teamwork, contributing effectively within an integrated, multi-group environment.
  • Comfortable working in a highly innovative environment and strong ability to cope with change.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and coordinate routine analytical testing of RNA-based drug substances, intermediates, and formulated drug products using a variety of analytical techniques and specialized instrumentation, including chromatography, spectroscopy, electrophoresis, particle characterization, and other relevant methods.
  • Support analytical equipment maintenance, trouble shooting and qualifications.
  • Support organizing, storage and maintaining inventory of analytical materials and supplies.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all experimental procedures and results.
  • Present scientific results and observations to colleagues and management.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
