About The Position

We are currently searching for a Scientific Data Researcher to provide support to the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) scientists, engaging in high content screening experiments by advising on optimal equipment, control layout, performance, and assay conditions required to generate data that is reproducible. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Rockville, MD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in biology, research, or laboratory setting.
  • Able to perform data presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in using MATLAB, Linux, Unix, and/or R.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
  • Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.
  • Previous experience working with NIH preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a draft written description of the analysis procedures, the findings, the limitations, and the proposal for follow-up experiments.
  • Perform data retrieval and entry using multiple IT systems.
  • Prepare, maintain, document, and operate research tools and technologies.
  • Develop protocols into SOPs for use in training material.
  • Attend laboratory meetings, present findings to staff.
  • Conduct data storage and record keeping.
  • Perform required quality control steps as needed.
  • Conduct research including planning and conducting experiments and data analysis in the Laboratory.
  • Perform required quality control steps as needed.
  • Develop protocols into SOPs for use in training material.
  • Conduct computerized searches of library references, scientific publications, and other databases; extract, consolidate and organize pertinent materials.
  • Use the computer to cross reference design and repeat experiments and research before preparing findings for publications.
  • Keep abreast of current research projects and to determine research assistance and information support.
