About The Position

This role is for a passionate neuroscience researcher looking for an industry position. The Scientific Consultant will develop an expert understanding of fNIRS technology, stay updated on fNIRS-based research, methods, and technology developments. They will consult scientists on the best solutions for their research questions by understanding their goals and the latest technology. The role involves interacting with leading researchers across various fields, building relationships within the research community, handling sales requests, and utilizing communication via email, phone, and online sessions. The consultant will also travel to research hubs for demonstrations, workshops, and training, and engage with researchers and partners at conferences. This position requires collaboration with scientists, engineers, project managers, and grant writers, and acting as the voice-of-the-customer to the rest of NIRx.

Requirements

Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
Comprehensive knowledge of the acquisition and analysis of physiological signals.
Ideally, previous experience with fNIRS, EEG, and/or fMRI.
Excellent English skills, oral and written.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experienced in public speaking.
Ability to present to large audiences, in person or remotely.
Organised team player, with a love for science.
Willingness to travel (25-35% of the time).
Must work and be based in the USA and hold a Passport for possible international travel (US Green Card holder or US Citizen).

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in the neuroscience field (either within a company or university lab)
Extensive knowledge in fNIRS data analysis or successful publication of fNIRS data.
Practical experience with the complete setup and preparation of subjects/patients for measurement of physiological signals.

Responsibilities

Develop an expert understanding of fNIRS technology.
Stay well-read on fNIRS based and related research as well as methods and technology developments.
Consult scientists on the best solution for their research questions.
Understand research goals and the latest technology developments and considerations for their field.
Interact with leading researchers in child/neurodevelopment, neuroscientists, cognitive psychologists, sport-scientists, medical researchers and more.
Build strong relationships within the research community.
Lead customer-oriented handling of sales requests, utilising communication via email, phone, conference calls / online sessions.
Travel to research hubs to provide demonstrations, workshops, and training.
Engage with researchers and our partners at conferences (like SfN, OHBM, CNS, SfNIRS, etc.).
Work together with an awesome team, interfacing with scientists, engineers, project managers, grant writers and many others.
Act as voice-of-the-customer to the rest of NIRx.
