About The Position

The Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed for Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) graduates, focusing on lifelong learning and preparing them for evolving workforce needs in the pharmaceutical industry. Fellows collaborate with industry partners and Northeastern University faculty on professional development, teaching, service, and scholarly activities. This specific fellowship is a two-year Scientific Communications Fellowship offered in partnership with Sarepta Therapeutics, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sarepta Therapeutics is a global biotechnology company dedicated to developing precision genetic medicine for rare diseases. The Global Scientific Communications (Sci Comms) team aims to create and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to support Sarepta’s platforms and programs. This involves building evidence-based scientific narratives for various stakeholders. The fellowship provides the Fellow with extensive experience in Scientific Communications by working with internal cross-functional teams and external experts on key company initiatives. The Fellow will be involved in publication and medical communication activities related to clinical research, health economics and outcomes research, and real-world evidence. They will support the strategic dissemination of data across multiple channels and lead various projects based on business needs and their professional interests.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited institution
Eligible for pharmacist licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong time management and leadership abilities
Ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at both the industry site and Northeastern University

Responsibilities

Drive the development of scientific publications, including abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts, in adherence to good publication practices
Review draft publications for scientific quality and data accuracy
Develop medical field decks, booth collateral, digital assets, and symposium content aligned with platform strategic imperatives
Obtain cross-functional alignment among relevant internal stakeholders and coordinate review, approval, and related activities associated with the development of scientific communications and publications
Collaborate with medical communication agencies to support the timely execution of publication, congress, and medical communication plans
Identify and propose innovative solutions to resolve issues and improve efficiencies in current processes
