Heal the Bay is seeking a Science & Policy Director to lead efforts in making coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean. This key leadership role involves managing a team of scientists and policy experts to drive strategic goals focused on water quality, biodiversity, climate change, and environmental justice. The organization's current priorities include Clean Water & Public Health, Marine Ecosystem Protection & Restoration, Climate & Coastal Resilience, Pollution Prevention, and Science-Based Response to Emerging & Acute Threats. The Director will work with the CEO to develop the overall strategic vision, lead advocacy campaigns, oversee research and regulatory analyses, represent Heal the Bay in public forums, and manage relationships with policymakers and external partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental policy and science, with expertise in water quality, ocean and coastal policy, climate change, and environmental justice, along with at least five years of experience leading a team.
