About The Position

American Straight A Academy (ASAA) is a K–12 online school offering students worldwide a U.S. high school education experience. The Science Instructor will teach AP Chemistry online to small groups of 2–6 students, using existing teaching materials and completing the curriculum within designated timelines. Classes are scheduled in Central Time in one of two options: Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (at least 7.5 hours per week), or Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (at least 5 hours per week). The role is remote and part-time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject area.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in the relevant subject area.
• Able to offer 2–3 available time slots during weekdays.
• Cooperative demeanor with staff.
• Passion for teaching.
• Flexible schedule for evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree or Ph.D./EdD preferred.
• High school teaching experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver online instruction to groups of 2–6 students.
• Use pre-existing teaching materials to ensure students thoroughly understand the subject matter.
• Assess and grade students’ in-class performance and provide constructive feedback to support academic progress.
• Complete the curriculum within designated timelines.
