About The Position

The K20 GEAR UP the METRO Science Instructional Curriculum Specialist engages with the curriculum team in planning, organizing, communicating, and monitoring evidence-based services with project partners, ensuring alignment with specified project outcomes. The incumbent will oversee project management, participant management, and the development of high-quality resources supporting educators’ professional growth in student-centered instructional practices, which in turn promotes student academic readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • 60 months of K12 education experience, including classroom experience.
  • 24 months in developing instructional products.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in planning, developing, and evaluating products.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in process innovation and project management.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive).

Responsibilities

  • Design, organize, and deliver professional learning opportunities for sponsored program participants.
  • Facilitate engaging professional learning sessions, workshops, and seminars that address instructional learning goals.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to stakeholders.
  • Utilize instructional technology tools to support online and blended learning opportunities.
  • Promote professional learning opportunities and encourage participation.
  • Support the adaptation of evidence-based practices through literature review and synthesis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define research objectives and develop search strategies for literature reviews.
  • Collect, organize, catalog, and evaluate the quality, relevance, and credibility of literature sources.
  • Summarize key findings from literature reviews, identify themes, trends, and gaps, and offer evidence-based recommendations.
  • Create, develop, and implement effective professional learning materials and programs.
  • Conduct needs analyses to identify learning needs and performance gaps.
  • Define clear and measurable learning objectives for instructional programs.
  • Design comprehensive curriculum or professional learning programs.
  • Develop educational content, including written materials, multimedia presentations, videos, e-learning modules, and assessments.
  • Select appropriate instructional methods and strategies, incorporating a variety of pedagogical techniques.
  • Ensure instructional materials are compliant with relevant laws and accessibility standards.
  • Prepare and support professional learning facilitators in implementing instructional programs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other professionals to ensure instructional design aligns with project goals.
  • Manage and facilitate effective communications within and outside the organization.
  • Engage in internal communication strategies to stay informed about organizational updates.
  • Manage external communications with students, families, educators, school leaders, and partners.
  • Develop and distribute content, including written materials, graphics, presentations, and multimedia.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute communication strategies.
  • Measure and assess the team's implementation of services.
  • Collect data from field services and participant feedback.
  • Utilize reporting systems to document and communicate evaluation findings.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of services, partner interactions, and evaluation processes.
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned to research goals.
  • Support the planning and execution of team projects and initiatives.
  • Execute assigned project tasks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Communicate progress of assigned tasks to stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Perform various additional duties as needed.
