About The Position

Science World is a mission-based, charitable organization dedicated to fostering STEAM literacy across British Columbia. Our mission is to ignite wonder and empower dreams through science and nature, with a purpose of Science for All. We are revitalizing Science World with a capital plan to enhance visitor experience and develop new content under themes of Regeneration of the Planet, Human Health, and Inclusion, ensuring access to informal STEAM learning for all British Columbians, especially under-represented communities. We seek to spark curiosity and wonder in STEAM through onsite, online, and outreach programs. As part of our team, you will join a diverse community that values unique talents and empowers employees to act in the best interest of visitors, members, volunteers, and each other. We foster an environment that supports employee development and growth, guided by our values: Curious, Playful, Inclusive, Relevant, and Collaborative. Science World operates seven days a week, with extended evening hours in the summer. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, with operational teams working various shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Work hours and requirements are scheduled based on business needs, which may include special events on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Our Science Camp programs run year-round for elementary school-aged students. Working closely with the Camps In-Charge and the wider camps team, you will help deliver STEAM-based camp programs in a workshop-style setting at pop-up camp locations in Surrey.
